The Head of Garment Assembly (Sewing) Operations is fully accountable for the performance, efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery of the Sewing/Make-Up department. This role provides strong operational leadership across multiple sewing and linking lines, finishing processes, ensuring optimal labour utilisation, process discipline, and adherence to production plans.
The position leads all supervisors, line leaders, technicians, IE, engineering and support staff within the production department and works closely with Planning, Knitting, Merchandising, Quality, HR, to ensure seamless workflow. A strong focus on systems, KPI-driven management, continuous improvement, and people leadership is essential.
Own end-to-end performance of the Sewing / Linking and garment finishing departments
Ensure achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly output targets
Align manpower, machine allocation, and production sequencing to plan
Minimise bottlenecks and drive smooth workflow across lines
Ensure right-first-time quality through disciplined process control
Minimum 8–12 years’ experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within sewing/assembly operations
Strong background in knitwear or apparel preferred
Experience managing large multi-line production environments
Excellent understanding of SMV, line balancing, and labour cost management
Strong grounding in quality systems and defect prevention
Proven experience driving productivity and efficiency improvements
Familiarity with Lean / Continuous Improvement principles is an advantage
