Quality Manager

Due to the continued expansion of Elegant Knitting International, based in the Biyagama Export Processing Zone, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Quality Manager to lead our Quality Department and drive excellence across all production processes.

The Quality Manager is responsible for establishing, implementing, and maintaining a factory-wide quality management system to ensure compliance with Elegant Knitting standards, buyer requirements, and international best practices. This role leads all Quality Control and Assurance teams

Responsibilities

  • Manage all factory-wide quality assurance activities in line with company SOPs and audit systems.

  • Oversee incoming yarn, knitting, and accessory inspections, ensuring conformance to approved standards.

  • Supervise in-line and end-line inspections in knitting, linking, sewing, finishing, and packing to maintain quality consistency.

  • Ensure compliance with AQL, GOTS, and metal control requirements, maintaining required audit performance levels.

  • Lead and develop the Quality Department team through training, performance management, and daily coordination.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for customer complaints and failed audits, implementing effective corrective actions.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce rework, wastage, and end-line rejections.

  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and communication with internal departments and external inspectors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Textile or Garment Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in garment manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.

  • Strong technical knowledge of knitwear production, inspection standards, and buyer quality requirements.

  • Proven experience in AQL systems, GOTS compliance, and ISO or similar quality management frameworks.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills with a results-oriented mindset.

  • Hands-on approach with strong attention to detail, discipline, and commitment to continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP systems, and quality reporting tools.
