Elegant Knitting international Pvt Ltd at Biyagama is an Australian owned leading apparel manufacturer with a strong global presence. Due to our rapid expansion, we’re seeking a seasoned Factory Accountant with a strong background in the apparel sector to join our factory located in Biyagama EPZ. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, a proven track record in the apparel industry, and a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities.  

Responsibilities

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Cost Control and Analysis: Monitor and analyze costs associated with freight, overtime, transport, inventory, and third-party logistics providers. Identify areas of potential cost savings and implement strategies to reduce expenses.
  • Inventory Accounting: Oversee the accounting for inventory, including the valuation of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods. Ensure accurate and timely recording of inventory transactions.
  • Taxation: Timely and accurately filling of tax returns - SVAT, VAT, APIT, WHT, Stamp Duty etc.
  • Accounting and Budgeting : Assist in the preparation of accounts, budgets and forecasts, with a particular focus on costs related to freight, transport, inventory, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in the factory's operating and accounting procedures.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Part qualification in CA/ACCA/CIMA and Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • A minimum of 3years of experience in a reputed audit firm with few years of industry experience
  • Experience in export and BOI environmentis preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and spreadsheet applications
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Experience in the apparel manufacturing industry is a bonus
