Due to our rapid expansion, we are seeking an experienced Work Study Executive to join our team.  Our apparel manufacturing facility is located at Biyagama EPZ.  The Work Study Executive will be responsible for improving efficiency through process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure continuous improvement of the sewing operation through lean and industrial engineering principles and related tools to maximize the utilization of man, material & machine, and standard it across value streams.
  • Continuously look for automation options to de-skill the operation at Pre-Production stage.
  • Continuously look for ways to reduce machine requirement for layouts and ensure machines available for production.
  • Prepare layout, Yamazumi version 1.
  • Ensure chassis base manufacturing to effective coordination with planning and merchandising teams to make sure the optimum plant loading is done to maximize productivity and incentive outflow.
  • Be on alert for abnormalities in shop floor and engage in resolving them.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance, health and safety procedures during the entire physical/chemical testing processes to maintain zero accidents.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of the autonomation solutions whilst carrying out Kaizen activities to create maximized productivity.
  • Conduct Yamazumi based on the given plan to identify critical areas for improvement, suggest solutions to improve efficiency and conduct training as and when required.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering/ Physical Science/ Diploma related field from a recognized university/Institute.
  • Minimum of 1 - 2 years’ experience in similar capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with an innovative mindset.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven people management abilities with a collaborative approach to team development.
